Forgive the shape I only drew the shape due to the light locations. One large white lamp on the bottom nose, Two large white lamps in rear bottom corners. The red light was blinking.

Its the landing light pattern for an aircraft.

If you want to differentiate the type of plane, well no way to tell man, simple as that. Unless you see anything else, its impossible to ID the plane.

The large white light is probably the nose-wheel landing lights, which are only visible and turned on when the landing gears are down, ditto to the other two white lights as well.

The red light is the anti-collision warning light.

That's supposedly the "UFO" that's been making stops at Air Force Bases around the country the last decade. Discovery has featured stories with people who have seen these in the past.

The first thing that de-credit's it as being a UFO (in alien terms) is that it's been seen around Military Bases. I really doubt the aliens have a habit of showing up at bases in the middle of the night.

I say it's a experiential aircraft. I'm sure we'll see it publicly in the next few years.

The white lights are landing lights and the red light is known as the rotating beacon. The beacon is always on but the landing lights are only on during landing, taxiing, and possibly take off.

If your a ways from the airforce base, then I would assume that it's a civilian plane. Other than that, I couldn't tell you.
