What do you feel when you feel the Holy Ghost, how do you know its the Holy Ghost and what does it mean?

At the various times I have felt the Holy Spirit, it has changed depending on the situation. At times I have felt an overwhelming love so strong it brought me to tears and to my knees. At other times it's just been a feeling of total peace that I can't even describe in words. Sometimes it's just a feeling of knowing you are loved and everything will be put right some day.

I think the holy ghost is just a bit of a spiritual high people get when they share there energies with eachother....

I'm and empath of sorts and use to go to church all the time when i was a kid.... there was often times there was a LOT of energy flowing about..... but it wasn't coming from anywhere but the people there...it was all there own energy just spread out and flowing from person to person.


I only ocationaly felt another pressence moving around and no one else ever seamed to notice it..... use to think that was it.... now i just think it was something atracted by all the energy.

After all if it was the holy spirit I figure some one else there would have noticed it's presance... and it would be there more often....


Then again maybe there is a part of it in everyone *shrugs* lol... heck if i know....

All i know for sure is it felt good and i would just lay back there in prase services and just soak it all in.... it was nice..... then i would help when some one asked for prayer and give a buch of it to them......

Don't visualise a Holy Ghost as ghosts you see in the movie. Those ghosts are also not real and all are man-made versions. Holy Ghost is a kind of sense that teach you which is good and bad in your mind all the time and always presuade you to do good things. It give you a strength to do good things, to believe in good things and make you assertive.

THE HOLY GHOST or HOLY SPIRIT is the third PERSON in the GODHEAD. FATHER, SON and HOLY SPIRIT. The HOLY SPIRIT is a PERSON. It is not a feeling. The BIBLE says, in Genesis 1:1-2 In the beginning GOD created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the SPIRIT of GOD was hovering over the waters.The BIBLE also says in JOHN 16:13 The LORD JESUS said, But when HE, the SPIRIT of TRUTH, comes, HE will guide you into all TRUTH. HE will not speak on HIS own; HE will speak only what HE hears , and HE will tell you what is yet to come.

some people just feel all peaceful, some feel very energetic, there are as many ways to experience the Spirit as there are people I suppose. I understand your question because you want to be sure what happens is genuine. You ask about my experience and I will tell you but your experience will probably not be like mine. I was sitting in my living room and things were not cool in my life and I knew that although I had an earlier religious experience (for want of a better name i call it that) but I knew the Spirit had visited but that the Spirit was not with me always. I knew this because sometimes I felt a certain kind of loneliness. So in all and utter sincerity I said to God, I know you are there and I know somehow I am not doing this relationship right, if you will tell me what you want I will do it. Somewhere in the middle of that quest God interupted because He knew where I was going (I assume) and He gave to me this "Teach my Word" and I immediately knew I had drawn this imagenary line where I knew He existed, I knew He was my creator and I wanted to worship, and wanted Him in my life but although I did not remember any decision I had decided I would not devote my life to Him and there by decided not to use my gifts. Immediately I while sobbing gave my heart to His desire of me. At that moment I became weightless and could have sworn I was lifted up and a light like a huge sparkler came to me and within me and while i thought I was in mid air I had this feeling which b4 had been unknown to me like I was in a place where I was loved protected secure, healthy, and one with a sense of peace and somethings that words can not express, and I just kept saying over and over give me more and I got more until I blacked out or something, anyway I found myself in my chair cozy and comfortable and when I got up to walk I felt like I was walking about 6" off the ground. I have gotten used to that feeling now or maybe it slowly went away but I never returned to where I was b4. Sometimes when I am shown a truth i get an extra burst or If I am there when somebody asks God to be their friend I get a little extra but it is always there. I do not tell people this very often bcuz when they become friends with God it is different, but one thing remains the same for all who break through to the other side and that is they know it, and no one will ever take it away and they are different and everyone can tell unless they are really young and then the ones close can tell. If you do not know just keep trying and praying He remove obsticals and pray some more. I thought I was right after my first experience but I had limited my participation and therefor limited my experience. Feeling peaceful is the explanation I hear most often from others.

it feels like an energizing of the spirit. Like a total loss of control, gently though not a bad loss of control. You dont really 'feel' the Holy Spirit, you experience it.

if u look in gods word.....start at /in ACTS1:5,1:8,2:38,4:31,9:31,10:44-45....THESE WILL HELP U UNDERSTAND GODS SPIRIT BETTER ...and what it is and the meaning of it...its called the "comforter" and its ur power in the days when its hard to get thru them and its so ...so..much more...
