I would assume that the offer is for a real necklace made of oyster pearls?
if that is not what he is talking about then you need to ask him to clairify the question as for most guys there are 2 meanings for the term "pearl necklace" 1 is the necklace the other is not the type of necklace you can wear to show your friends.
\Ask him to clairify.

I think you are lucky to have such a nice BF. You should accept the necklace gracefully. Cook him a meal, to say thank you. Whilst eating your meal, tell him that you love to get gifts from him, however tell him you do not need him to buy you things for him to show you he loves you. Tell him that you'd prefer he save the money. You could both do many things for each other that do not cost money. Write little " I love you" notes, and leave them around for each other, he can make you dinner one night, and you make him a special meal one night. Spending quality time together is worth more than jewel's. Make sure though you wear the necklace, to show him how much you like it, or you may never get another gift.

Good luck to you both. Enjoy!

In think that it may be a different kind of pearl necklace to the usual one. I would accept his offer but make sure you don't wear your finest clothes when he puts it on you

I've given a few pearl necklaces in my time and the girls always seem grateful. You should accept before he decides to give it to your Mum.

I can't believe so many people are ignorant of the true meaning of the question! Still, it has given me (and a few others it seems) a very good laugh and a great start to a boring Friday morning.

Just say yes please to your boyfriend and try not to be shocked at the outcome lol

Of course you should accept it, he loves you and wants to give you something to help show that love, saving is great when your looking forward to doing something together, but little treats now and again stop things going stale between you, whats a few more weeks of saving to show how much he loves you.

You can accept if he really wants you to receive it.If you do not accept it he will be disappointed. If you want to be a saving your pearl necklace can be sold after you discuss it with your bf.

Politely decline as you're saving - but perhaps suggest something cheaper - like a bunch of flowers, so he still feels good in giving you something but without breaking the bank.
