Online forum about varous things.... lots of people talk in them from around the wrold.
Also some Online games are world wide....
mail groups....
other than traveling abrod thats about all i can think of right now.

I've made plenty of online aquaintences through involvement in MSN Groups, MSN Spaces & MSN Messenger. In fact, I discovered Yahoo! through an online friend in Illinois while I'm living in Australia! The MSN Spaces has international links of personal blogs which enable viewers to post comments as we do here at Yahoo!Answers!

When I was in Australia I lived in an apartment with other international students, one from China and the other from Thailand. The fact that our landlady was a real witch really brought us together.... :)

To make friends, one must be open to others and truthfullness should be emerging out of what you say and what you think.
If you are meeting some one physically i.e. face to face,you should show confidence in your approach.
