Because the greatest lesson we learn on planet earth is self love and from that stems loving others. The ego mind is insidious in the way it talks to us telling us we are never enough.

I would say...."how can I help you?"

I'm not a priest but I don't have an issue with people loving each other. I'd help you, to help those who don't have love for one another.

(but, I won't join your religion.....is that okay with you?)

They are still to much like children sorting out their place in socity to pay attention to anything else.

Mentor others, pray for them, and show them how to live... beyond that is beyond your control.
