okay, no one I know in person would think that I know how to do this but...

Get a nail file or small pocket knife. Put in the TRUNK lock and jimmy it very very gently until it turns. Then climb in (making sure not to shut it on yourself) and find the backseat release pull/button (most cars have them so people don't get locked in the trunk). You will then be able to get into the back seat and unlock the door (at least the back one). Ta-DA, you're in the car.

The reason you use the trunk lock is because it is much easier to pick than the driver door. And it is important to be very gentle and not push it too far or else you will break off the file and then you're screwed.

P.S.S Go to a AAA auto club and they will make you a plastic key on a card for just this occasion, it only costs 15 dollars. Or you can always take your car to a dealer and have them cut you some spare keys to keep at home in case, but it is more expensive.

And no, I wont tell you how to hot wire it, lol.

Feel free to try a coathanger. You're simply trying to hook the locking mechanism and pull it upwards by sliding the hanger into the door between the window and the window gasket. But many car companies make this harder and harder as it has become obvious that the coathanger method is standard practice among car thieves.

Most insurance policies come with 24-hour roadside assistance. You pay the tow company to come and unlock your car, the insurance company pays you back when you give them the receipt.

Other options: if anyone you know has a Toyota, especially one from the same year and/or model, try their key. You'd be surprised how often two keys would work in the same lock.

Call your insurance, luckily they'll send a locksmith and you it'll only take an hour or so to unlock.

If you don't have that kind of coverage, just pay for a locksmith. You could damage your car's security system with a coathanger.
