Well current thinking has it that to travel in time you would either need to travel faster then the speed of light (apparently impossible) or to use/create a wormhole (which would have the effect of traveling faster than light)

Einstein states that space around large bodies of matter is curved by the sheer mass, thus causing gravity wells to occur (gravity being a side effect in the Einstein view not a particle), matter is mainly a bunch of fast moving electrons whizzing around, so just maybe if you concentrated several beams of high energy electrons in a certain configuration (3 off-center beams might work, just a guess, 'really!!') at a point in space you could create an artificial gravity source (I honestly have never tried this). Make this powerful enough (and you will create a black-hole) and then move the locus though space you 'might' be able to create a wormhole (I really never have tried this, way too dangerous, but I may know some 'people' who have), and clever use of this wormhole 'may' allow you to travel in time.

It's not the H.G. Wells concept of a time machine but it's your best real chance. Stick this all on a space ship and presto you have your time travel machine.

PS: should you have the finances to attempt this please do it as far away from the Earth as you can (like out Pluto way) because black-holes and planets don't mix... trust me I know from experience(second-hand I would like to add).

You have no need to build a time machine: you can buy one quite cheaply - it's called a clock!
