i would say wait till she is 2 cause by then you know she is done growing cause it will stunt her growth if she is not done growing .i would also ask a vet cause if she is a small breed dog it could be sooner. i breed Boston terriers and pit bulls and i waited until they were 2 just to be sure they are done growing. i would also make sure she is okay to be bred and to have puppies some dogs have something wrong with and cannot be bred or it will kill her or the puppies.

Usually they prefer for the dogs to be at least a year old, maybe even 18 months. If you are looking to seriously breed, also consider the dogs size and the male she will be paired with. If she is still young and small, make sure that the females in the males family, and others he has been bred with, don't have large litters. Otherwise, your pup may have a C-section, which is harder on dogs. And good for you, they say female animals that have one baby or litter, live much longer and healthier than those that don't.

It is possible for them to get pregnant thier first cycle, usually around 6 months. However, this isn't recommended. She isn't full grown at this point and breeding her could be very dangerous to her health. Seperating her from male dogs is best, but if that isn't possible, they make "Doggie Diapers" that keep their genitals covered and keeps the goop off your couch :) They aren't fool proof, you still have to keep her under close observation to make sure he doesn't figure out how to get around the system :)

I think it's best to wait until she's 18 months old, and then breed the next heat after she hits that mark.

Hope this helps. Happy Breeding!

a female dog should not be bred until her 2nd heat cycle. before breeding you should have genetic testing done and if a large breed dog OFA testing done. you should not jump into breeding until you have done research. research your breed, breeding, get all the breeding/whelping supplies. it can be very expensive to breed dogs..unless you become another back yard breeder. there are too many dogs dying in shelters by the day. dont breed your dog unless it is of good breeding quality..which means perfect breed standard and of show quality. get your dog fixed, buy some books, do tons of research, find a good reputable breeder as a mentor..then buy show quality dogs to breed.

Around 2yrs or after they are full grown by that I mean once they quit growing at a fast pace. If you breed to early it will stunt the feamles growth and also mess up her attitude. I have seen this my self and it really said to see a dog who started the breeding process to early they look said and hunched over.

i'm taken with life, maximum of those human beings think of that there are some distance too many human beings on earth. yet, they are actually not volunteering to resign their area. Your dogs would be wonderful in simple terms in simple terms be constructive you get the names of those advisers. that they had in all likelihood have the dogs placed to sleep. i'm wondering whether they are yet mating with the inhabitants being what it rather is. Love your puppy and end asking those people who watch too many episodes of the "starvation video games "

If you are trying to breed her, wait until she's two. If you're asking if it's possible for your puppy to get pregnant, it's possible at the first heat, sometimes as early as 4 months.

at their first cycle, which is anywhere from 6 mos. on, but you want to wait at least a year, b/c if not getting pregnant too young, can stunt their growth, the healthier the mom, the healthier the puppies.
