Given that certain UK mosques have radical Imam's should the UK govt pass laws which could close radical mosques and schools? Should the Moslem council of UK be doing more to prevent these Imam's preaching hate?

You don't need to close the mosques. You just need to arrest the radical imams who work there.
"Freedom of speech" and "freedom of religion" do not give Muslim clerics the right to encourage their followers to kill anyone who doesn't follow their particular interpretation of Islam. Similarly, they don't give Christian preachers like Pat Robertson the right to do that either.

the answer is to arrest the hate-mongers. Take them out of the mosques and there'd be so few people left that they wouldn't matter any more. The best way to get rid of these people is to publicly hang them from the nearest lamp post. After all, it's what they would do to us (and do do in the middle east).
Maybe another route would be to take the koran and print out the "dangerous" and brutal passages. A list of these could be given to the thugs who would be required to read them sign a binding oath that they totally reject and disbelieve these parts of the book and that implementation of these practices would result in their immediate dispatch to whatever hell the mohommedans believe in.

I can understand why "hijab" is banned in many ways in educational and some other establishement, because you dont know whose behind the hijab, it can be an axe murderer etc, when taking exams, it could be a brainier person behind the hijab, no other religious symbol or clothing actually covers the face and the whole body, unlike this hijab. What stops muslim men looking at others wives?

NEVER that would open the door to religious descrimination by a government and look at the therocracies (middle east) around the world and see what the governmental oppression of religion has done are there any churches in those countries no because the gov. sanctions only one religion.

being a muslim. i agree. There are many IDIOTs leading some mosques and giving a bad name to Islam, and messing up society.
The other day in the news. a so called muslim was protesting for the pope to be hanged, but the media looked him up and he was a drunkie, took drugs and did not really care about the religion of Islam, and for no reason he was preaching this discust of hanging the pope!!!

Yes for sure, along with all other religious buildings, why are any of them needed? Cant the religious bunch pray to their God without having special buildings and meeting places!
BTW 'boneymad' why do all Christians refer to the 'Bible' and just quote from the New Testament?
The bible is the Old testament, your Christian cra* came a bit later than that, the Bible is full of violence! And should be banned along with all other religious hate filled

No. And by the same token, public houses frequented by villains, likewise should not be closed. Reason - if you know a mosque is being used by extremists, you'll need to keep it open so you can spy on it and them.

I do think it is up to the islamic leaders to say this is not islam they are teach but as with abu hansa if they are put out of the mosqs they will teach else where at least while in the mosqs they can be watched but it is Islam itself that needs to straiten this out. if the britsh government try we will be acused of hatrid
