Commonly, excessive drooling may be associated with mouth (oral) infections, dental caries, sub-mandibular, lingual or parotitid gland infection/inflammation, or to facial nerve palsy. You can help him by checking his insides of the mouth (oral cavity) if there is any infection/ulceration. Prior to that you may look at his face and specially look for any swelling below the ears and around the corner of jaws, or underneath the jaw. You can also examine his teeth by a torch and a spoon (the handle used to lift off the lip). Look for any dark (black/brown) spot. At the same time you may have a look at his gums –are they swollen/bulky/painful to touch etc. The Vth cranial nerve (Facial) can also lead to excessive drooling of recent onset. In this condition there is usually a one sided paralysis of the facial muscles and you may ask him to whistle- if he can, there is no need to be worried on this account.

Best would be to consult your own doctor.

It could be he is under stress. I have this experience before. Last few months, my husband went bankrupt,I was so worried for the family and i started to wet the pillow with saliva. my kids would laugh at me.Only later, i learn to relaxe myself, no longer worry so much, My problem gone..... no more wet pillow.... you may want to check with your husband if he is under any stress...

First, keep him away from your own pillow.
Second, maybe he needs to make an appointment with his dentist just to be sure he doesn't have anything wrong with his mouth.

I think he should see a doctor. The information I have about people who drool in their sleep is that they may have worms in his stomach.

He should just shut his trap and stop drooling.

Either that or stick a sponge down his throat.
