If, when you die, your soul or spirit goes back to God, is there any way you can watch over your loved ones?

So many people believe that their loved ones stay near them and watch over them, bestowing blessings on new babies, etc.

Yes. If a Soul moves on after the death of the body, because not all Souls do, then the Soul is likely to continue showing interest in those it loved during a lifetime. But the main task of such a Soul would be own learning and growth.

There is a phrase in the bible about a "cloud of witnesses" who watch over Christians. These are the ones who have gone on before, I believe.

My mother died over ten years before her first granchild was born, but I believe she watched it and I think she is watching me now, but is not to interact with the living - letting the years she was on earth and the blessings given then come over us now.

Bestowing blessings on babies in my mind smacks of ancestor worship - my mothers blessing for my nephew was the way she prayed for us as kids and taught us to love God while she lived, as the bible speaks of righteous men and women being a blessing for many generations.

Pray tell how you expect any living person to answer that for you anymore than you can. No one had died and came back to tell us just what's going on out there in that vast paradise called heaven. If they could, then maybe no one would be afraid of death and would look forward to it rather than dreading the thought of not living anymore.........Make sense........
