Aztecs and Mayans were ancient civilizations that lived in the area we now call Mexico. The people of Mexico are descendants of these tribes. The western United States was once occupied by these tribes. Some pro illegal immigration groups espouse a vision of retaking the Southwest United States from the "European invaders." One example of these groups is La Raza.

Why do you ask, do you feel you made these words up? Mayans were a tribal group that conquered previous civilizations, Toltecs also, but from a slightly different region. The Aztecs wiped out both of them using the power of preemptive strikes. None of these tribes were very peaceful or nice. The Spanish than came in and wiped out the Aztecs. There are of course other tribes involved at various times. What you call a Mexican today is interbreeding of various people.
The purer Spanish blood lines discriminate against the purer Indian bloodlines, though neither side is that pure anymore. Most, not all, but most of the illegals are of the Indian bloodline, so in effect we are being invaded by the Aztecs.

Yes they existed. The Mayan were most likely wiped out by a prolonged drought.

There was/is. The Spanish came along and wiped most/all of them out. Colonisation at work, ruining the world.

Yes. They were active tribes in Mexico, their descendants live today, some people still speak the pre-Contact languages.
