Bence Turkiye denmesi daha iyi , Turkey demektense. Koca Turkiye'nin ,ayni zamanda bir Hindi adina sahip olmasini acikcasi ben ne olursa olsun pek yakistiramiyorum.

Bence bunun bir kompleks nedeni olması gereksiz. Böyle bir istekte bulunuyorsan o zaman sen de bütün ülkelerin adını kendi dillerinde söylemeye başlamalısın. En önce de Mısır'a Mısır demekten vazgeçmelisin.

"Turkey" is merely the anglicized spelling, just as how Espana is Spain, Deutschland is Germany, Suomi is Finland, Polska is Poland, Italia is Italy, Osterreich is Austria, Ceska Republika is the Czech Republic, Island is Iceland... well, you get the idea. Every language has its own names for other countries. Germans, for example, call France Frankreich, Spain Spanien, Poland Polen, Romania Rumanien, Great Britain Gross Britanien, Egypt Agypten... the French call Germany Allemagne, Africa Afrique... everyone's got their own names in their own language. In English, Turkiye is simply Turkey, which isn't really that big of a change in spelling.

Biz evde Turkiye diyoruz, ama arkadaslarimla konusuyorsam, Turkey diyorum, cunku, anlamiyorlar. Turkiye cok ozleyorum. Kusura bakma, Turkce klavier yok benim is yerimde, ama evde var!!! Ne mutlu Turkum diyene!!

I tried to use Türkiye but ibneler anlamıyo kardeş, ya da anlayıp anlamamazlıktan geliyolar. Dünyaya Turkey yerine Türkiye'yi kabul ettirmek maalesef bizim değil devletin işi, zamanında Habeşistan'ın yaptığı gibi:
Habeşistanlılarda bu tabiri sevmiyorlar ve isimlerini Etiyopya olarak değiştirmişler yıllar önce. Ama maalesef bizimkilerde o cesaret yok, AB için "monkey" olduk kardeş, turkey neki?

Turkey is the English word/spelling, while Turkiye is the native word/spelling. It happens all over the place.
