I always hear about people saying how thin is in, but it seems that if you're a celebrity and you get really skinny you are put all over the tabloids with headlines that say you're too skinny. It's true that many people want to lose weight, but I have known skinny girls who would love to gain weight but can't because they have a high metabolism. It just seems like people are not afraid to tell someone that they're too skinny. I never hear anyone tell an overweight person that they need to lose weight. Is thin really in? Even some skinny models were not aloud to model in Spain.

To be thin now almost is a crime. Now some places have weigh in for models so they can't go out on stage if their BMI is too low. Its all just silly. If people eat in a balanced way and do moderate exercise they will all look good. And yer everytime a celeb gets stressed or sick the magazines scream "anorexic". They are not - they need to see a real anorexic and stop making out like everyone has it. Scare mongers are to blame for obesity.

What IS really in is good health. People should eat reasonably. They should exercise for the sake of their circulatory system, not to lose weight. A person who eats normally and gets adequate exercise, will be healthy and weigh a weight that is ideal for that individual (that is, a particular ideal, usual weight set by the body itself, not by fashion geeks).

This is in, but not too thin. Too thin is when you can count the ribs from 10 feet away, the butt looks more like a female crotch, and you can loop a bangle bracelet around the calves. Fat or plump is considered a major character flaw. It means your lazy, unmotivated, and greedy. That's just what other people's first impressions are anyway.

Thin is NOT "in"; neither is grossly obese. Average, however IS "in"--and is increasingly popular each day. Advertising marketer demographic surveys are showing this---and soon, their results will be reflected in television and print media commercials and ads.

The days of the rail thin supermodel are twilighting....very soon, you will see more "rubenesque" models in the fashion world and selling every other advertised products.

Thin, as in skinny and boney, is not in. Thin as in toned and slim with a healthy body fat percentage is in. Curves are also in and so is being health. HTH : )

it all depends on your perception. to me having body mass ratio less than 18 for females and less than 20 for males is unhealthy.
having body mass ratio greater than 23 in females and 25 in males is considered to be overweight, but till 24in females and 26 in males is good enough.
