Can you be more specific? Are you short of breath, do you get sweaty, or what?

Have you had a bad experience laying down before? Maybe a terrible dream or some kind of abuse? Maybe you have a phobia of...being horizontal. It could happen, there's a phobia for just about everything.

I'd see a doctor. They should be able to help you better than we can.

I get the same thing sometimes. Especially when I try to sleep, I get scared to close my eyes and fall asleep.. I think that I might not wake up or something bad like that. What I try to do is just to relax as much as possible. I also use a little reverse psychology on myself, pretending that I'm getting more and more scared and thinking of the worst thing that could happen, it somehow relaxes me and I can fall asleep then.

Go to a sleep clinic, consult a specialist. First time I've heard such symptoms. Don't know what you have.
