After coming in contact with the itchy scabies creature, how long will it be before they would burrow and how long before i would start to have signs or symptoms of an actual infestation?

If everything goes well for the mites, then the patient who harbors them will start getting mite itch about 2 to 3 weeks from the time infested.

After scabies are killed, the toxins they left behind will continue to itch. Use thyme oil in a carrier oil, it works great for scabies and you can apply as often as you itch, unlike the prescribed creams which often are so toxic you can't use them very often. Also you got to wash, clean and sun or steam everything you are in contact with as best you can to prevent reinfection. Also sometimes mites are misdiagnosed and you might actually have eczema. But scabies is easier to pick than mites so the diagnoses should be right, the scabies cream might give you eczema, then thyme oil should help for both excema, mites or scabies. Or you can use the thyme oil after the prescription treatment is done to prevent reinfestation. Dont' use thyme oil at the same time as the prescription cream, I can't say what the effect would be. But skin is very individual, you gotta see what works for you. exersise that makes you sweat might help, or make temporarily worse! good luck.

Scabies, lice, crabs; what's in a name? The little creatures burrow on contact. You will probably have signs/symptoms of itching within a month. Within two months, you will be able to see the little buggers.

If you suspect, or know, that you are infected, there are over-the-counter medications to treat the infection. Your pharmacist can direct you to these medications. If your infestation has gone beyond over-the-counter medication, you will need to consult a physician. Don't be embarrassed to consult your pharmacist or a physician for treatment. You certainly don't want to spread any infestation to others.
