If a baby is born to a Catholic mother, does that automatically make the baby Catholic as well?, even though the father is Muslim. I know that if a Muslim man marries a non-muslim woman, the children will be raised Muslim.
But I always wondered since the mother is Catholic, if the baby will be catholic as well.

When a Catholic marry a non-Catholic, the non-Catholic must contractually agree to allow his children to be raised Catholic.
This applies regardless of whether it is the mother or the father who is Catholic.

Being catholic isn't a race its a choice to follow a religion when a baby is born it doesn't have a choice of what it is... so basically the baby is whatever you want it to be. Even said that though when the baby becomes of age and is able to understand their surronding and can make their own decisions about the world it is up to them to claim what their spirituality is.

No. The baby first becomes Catholic when baptised in the Catholic church then at around age 12 or 13, receives confirmation, a personal dedication to God in the church.

babies are not born into a religion, they adopt the religion of their parents.

When a baby is born and adopted out, does that baby remain a catholic (for example)? The baby assumes the religion it is brought up in. If a Christian family has adopted the baby, the baby isn't catholic, is he? He grows up in whatever religion he was brought up in, and (most of the time), assumes that specific religion.

The baby must be baptised into the Catholic church. Catholicism is not automatic for anyone.

sure, each and every physique is born with a sinful nature. meaning that it rather is basically as organic for a individual to sin because it rather is for a fish to swim or a chook to fly. there is largely one therapy for our sin, it is to repent of our sins and have confidence Christ as our Savior. guy isn't stored by potential of trusting in a faith, or a church, or by potential of doing "solid works". "The wages of sin is loss of life, yet, the present of God is eternal life by Jesus Christ the Lord." (Romans 6:23) have you ever gained this unfastened present? toddlers are a recent from God, this would not recommend they are actually not sinners. the superb element which you're able to do on your baby is to convey your baby up interior the nurture and admonition of the Lord and cause them to Christ at an early age. come across a solid Bible coaching, Bible believing, and Gospel preaching church the place you are able to advance as a Christian determine.

the only way the child will be catholic is if they baptize it catholic. i am catholic and we chose not to baptize my son right away. so basically, he was nothing until we baptized him. im not sure about what happens when the muslim religion is involved though.

It depends on how the baby is raised. When the child is old enough he can choose his own religion. Catholicism is not inherited.

You're not considered a Catholic until you are baptised as one.
