To the person who wanted to know about hoping someone dies. Yes it's o.k My Father was 90 with Parkinsons and I hoped and prayed that the Lord would take him. He mercifully did. Life with the Lord is beautiful and dieing is a neccessity. It is the death of sin. Make sure your loved one has seen a priest or pastor and let them go and pray for them.

I understand your good intentions in posting this, but please try to observe the community guidelines from now on. If you are at your limit for answers or votes, you just have to wait a few hours.

There are too many people who use the Questions as a soap box for making statements, and we can't say yours is alright and that one's is not. Some of them are really angry diatribes against people's faith, and some are just preachy things. So we have the rule that Questions should be real questions and answers should be real answers.

Good answer.

I know what you mean. My grandma suffered for a long time, and when she died, it actually came as a relief to me. Of course I was sad, but I just couldn't stand watching her suffer like that on and on.

I wrote this poem (and no it's NOT suicidal. It's about accepting death for one who is ailing).

Death is kind.
Like lover's wine,
Ever does it flow.

Life is cold.
Though worn and old,
We will not let it go.

Death is bliss.
Yet life we kiss --
We cling to what we know.

Come to me --
I will not flee.
Lay my fears below.

Thanks for sharing your experience. When my mother in law was fading away, we prayed God to have mercy on her so that she didn't suffer. We also prayed God's will be done, not our own.
