I mean ... aside from having faith that it's not. Afterall, the Devil is purported to be very very tricky mixing truth with lies that even the elect might be deceived.

Jesus was accused of doing miracles in the name of Beezelbub and stated that if he were doing this, he would be working against himself and the devil is much to proud to give God credit for anything.

When Jesus was tempted by the devil, the devil used exact scripture, but neglected to use "the rest of the story" , much as many people do today when picking apart the bible. Jesus answered the devil the same way we are to respond even today, with "the rest of the story"

Although tricky, the devil will not because of pride, give God credit for anything. He wants the glory and the honor for himself and the bible is definately not written to glorfy the devil.

The Bible is a light to the path I walk in for without it I would stubble back into all the bad habits the devil had me in before I ever knew about Gods word .If you don't believe me read it for a week .Try Proverbs and ask yourself if the devil would really want you to know all this good stuff. In the mean time get real or at least be true to yourself.

Yep, you are so right - many are decieced, enough for the bible to say - not everyone who cries Lord, lord, will be saved. (assuming the bible to be from God, and not Satan)

You know the same way bank tellers can see counterfit money on sight. You see so much of the real thing, fakes are easy to spot.

The bible has prophecy about the future - angels or fallen angels can't tell the future (Of course you know that from the bible).
The bible is almost alive, it is part of your life everyday. Telling you the proper messages at the proper time. to help you
Why would Satan do that??????

But bottom line it does comes down to faith. Same as the faith required to believe in God. Because the bible is God.
John 1:1 - in the begining was the word, and the word was God

The bible is a book just like any other book. It is inspirational and can place you on a path of enlightenment, but so can a book of Buddhism. The devil is a representation of humanities darkness within, and until we stop blaming a fictitious character, we will never remedy the problem which holds humanity down.

The devil is not THAT smart.
Clever in trickery, he's horrible at keeping a story straight.
The Bible is just one straight storyline.

Yes he is very tricky, but one thing you have to remember is that Satan wants to hurt and destroy us. The bible teaches good things. If you REALLY look at Gods plan...it edifies. Satan has his hands in plenty of things and he has lots of cronies to do his dirty work for him. If you ask me he has the ball in motion and doesn't have to do much. Just think about the problem with drug abuse in the U.S. alone. I could go on, but I digress.

The devil does not give instructions on how to resist his power.

The devil also does not admit that he is less powerful than God, and that he will be defeated by God.

The Bible addresses these things.

Matthew 12:25-26
Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.
If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself.

Satan would not talk badly about himself in the Bible, he would be claiming himself to be god.

Yeah...lets think that out.Satan wrote the book to fool us all.He told us not to listen to him.he told us to love each other and God first. He told us to feed the hungry, clothe the poor, respect our parents. He told us to respect and love God first. He told us how he's being put in the sea of fire for eternity and how we(THE CHILDREN OF GOD) get to go on with Jesus Christ to heaven if we follow God and not him.Golly I,m glad he's so smart.
