You always try the most positive method first:
Some ideas for discouraging finger chewing: when your puppy clamps down, let out a very loud YELP in imitation of a hurt puppy. Then, fold your arms and ignore him for 10 minutes. With very young puppies, this sometimes works wonders - it's the same thing that happens when they get too rough with another puppy. The wounded puppy yelps and runs off, refusing to play for a bit. The yelp must be startling enough to stop the behavior. If nothing changes, you probably weren't a good enough actor.
That should do the trick, unless she is prey driven, . however, if it doesn't fix the problem this will work:
To introduce an element of "natural discipline", grasp the recalcitrant pup with one hand, place your other hand over the top of his muzzle, gently pressing his muzzle towards his chest as you say, in a low, growly tone of voice, "No BITE". If they begin to throw a tantrum and thrash around trying to bite, just hold the line until they "give in" and "say uncle" (quit resisting). You should not find it necessary to get aggressive with a young puppy. Simple restraint is usually enough to get the message across.

Never Ever Hit your puppy..not on the nose or anywhere...
The big yelp and a loud "ouch" that startles the puppy really helps. Also, if possible, let him mingle with the neighboorhood puppies. When he bites and plays with other dogs and gets it back, he knows, it hurts and will slowly get rid of the habbit.
This worked with our Lab.
Exercise, Discipline and Affection in this orer, will help you train your puppy.
Also, I am a big fan of Cesar Millan - the dog whisperer. You can watch him on National Geographic Channel. He teaches you how to be a pack leader....Its learning for life and great companionship with your dog for a long time.

Don't smack them - the more excited/active/physical you get when she's wound up, the more wound she'll get. Make a coughing/rumblin noise in your throat - sound like a dog growl, (you'll feel silly, but she'll listen), also, make sure that you never encourage her to put her teeth or mouch on a person's skin ever, even if you think you are just playing. Give her an appropriate toy to chew on, and praise her when chewing on her own toys/bones. Plus, obedience school is really effective.

Hit them when they do somthing wrong. Not hard.. just a light stern warning. Evrrytiime your dog bites, you hit it on the mouth light and tell him off. Keep doing it, he'll get the idea. It's the same when getting them to sh*t in the right place. If they do it somewhere else in the house, you bring them to where they you-know-what, and make them look at it, then smack em and then bring em to the toilet or the proper place..

No healthful dogs will starve himself. in the adventure that your dogs won't touch his time-honored dogs nutrition whilst there are quite no different alternatives and this has been occurring for a week i might say you could desire to work out the vet and get him regarded at to make effective there is not any longer a medical concern. A dogs performing out of character such as you describe is yet another clarification for a vet verify to rule out medical issues. maximum dogs will snap and/or chew whilst they're in adequate discomfort, no count how candy they many times are.

Every time she bites too hard, hold her mouth shut until she whimpers. That's the way a dog finds out who's boss.

Say, "No" in a commanding deep voice...if the problem persists...then a little nose smacking will help...don't go overboard or you'll really hurt it. Just a little tap of flick to get its attention.

A spray bottle of water is a good way to stop bad behaviour. Mist or spray them in the act. It has been years later and our grown dogs and cats will be acting up, I pick up the spray bottle and they even leave the room and go to bed.
