Usually people seize, "mostly children" around 105 or 106. Brain damage is possible but not likely becuase the body is trying to regain homeostasis with the seizure activity before brain damage occures. However these people should be medicated or seen in the ER way before this should ever happen.

I guess it depends. My daughter was 7 months old an she had a fever of 108 went to the ER in ambulance an they said it was just a viral infection that caused fever to go so high i think she was on the verge of taking a seizure her eyes kept rolling in back of her head i was so scared. by the time she got to hosp her temp was to 105 when we left there 4 hours later it was to 102 had to watch constantly to make sure it didnt go higher. Not fun at all

I dont think so, most seizures are caused not just by high temps but also from the fever spiking upwards too quickly, the seizure is actually helping your body as a defense, brain damage is only caused by prolonged time without air, while all seizures dont stop breathing. My daughter had a seizure and turned blue-but she revived quickly.seizures are scary but pretty harmless most of the time.

Things in your body are made to haldle your body temp...your temp goes up with it is fighting off something...rasing the temp to ''cook em'' out of your system....doing this will ''cook'' some of your own system...thus cause brain damage....seizer is just your body giving up and loosing total control so they can go hand and hand.

Well, people can die with a temperature of 105 degrees, I think brain damage starts at 103 - 104 degrees.

You are the same one who asked about a little one who's temp had been 102 for two days...go on already! Little one needs CARE and does not need you to fool around with his/her health. You can kill a child with letting a fever go untreated.

105-106 can cause seizure. 107-108 can fry the brain's temperature regulating centers and this leads to death.
