I started gettin panic attacks and I hate them. I get a panic attack from just thinking about it. I take xanax, but i hate when I do because i feel like if i keep taking medicine i would get like addicted to it or depend on it. I'm such a nervous person, for example if i here about a certain disease or anything bad that would happen to you i would think i have it. How do you cope with them and relax? And how long does it usually take for them to go away?

Well really you have to try to think of something else. If you have to you could even sing to yourself or make youself laugh. Hysterically. Even in public. This will keep you laughing all day. It might seem weird but it works.

First thing I would reccomend is stop taking the xanax. If you think you are stressed now just wait till you are hooked and the doctor cuts you off (they always wait till you are hooked). Xanax is easy to get hooked on especially if you are really sick from panic attacks.
I am not an expert but I would reccomend therapy. If they try to push anti-depressants on you run! Thats another shiit hole you dont wanna get trapped in. Try to find the root of the anxiety and go from there. Dont let people push a lot of pills on you cause that can potentially make it worse. You are just masking but not fixing anything. Good luck!

I get them occasionally when I go in BUSY stores... usually able to overcome them as soon as someone pisses me off... and the anticipation of some idiot pissing me off is what I think causes the attacks in the forst place (by pissing me off, I mean someone doing something very STUPID and inconsiderate like blocking the isles by push ing the cart left while stepping left and looking at something.. or passing you real fast while you're walking down an isle and cutting right infront of you to stop)
