It depends on the dog. My dogs have never liked any toy I have ever bought them. When I tried the bitter apple spray and the No Chew, they just licked it up. They're crazy. What I found helpful was to always keep the long-chew treats on hand like Chew-eez and Busy Bones. These last quite a while and they really keep the dog's attention. You just have to watch them really closely and keep something positive to chew on hand. Puppies can be a lot of work. Especially older ones who have already learned negative behaviors and habits.

You might want to consider getting metal food and water bowls, as for the shoes, try to keep them as out of reach of the dog as possible. All puppies chew things, it's just a phase but if it gets out of hand, there are some natural sprays that deter dogs from eathing things, there's this one on the market that is like sour apple or something which keeps the dogs from going to town with your shoes, or couch, or anything.
