There is no statute of limitations on a warrant. As far as punishment is concerned, that depends completely on what the warrant is for, and if he is convicted of the charges.

I have a friend who did something dumb when he was very young there was a warrant issued [ the offense was not a felony] 22 years later when he tried to get a drivers license they arrested him on the spot! He was in jail 2 months then they took him 3,000 miles [ he had to pay for the tickets] and he spent another 3 months in jail. In total it cost him $3,500 in fines + a lawyer. So it never goes away! Just get it over with!

Statue of limitation differs for different crimes. Not knowing what the crime was it hard to say what type of punishment he would be looking at. But unless he wants to be scared and worried about it the rest of his life the best thing to do is turn himself in and ask for mercy from the judge. He also should go talk to an lawyer.

no there is not statue of limitation on a warrant. It will stay active for as long as he lives.

He will have to face the orginal charge, plus a fine and possilbe jail time for the failure to appear.

Depending on the orginal charge, he is better off hiring an attorney and working out a deal to turn hisself in.
