I was in a mechanic shop today, and was wondering how the general public feels about nude pics of women plastered all over the walls? What do you think about it?

It is unproffessional. I mean if I had a boutique it would be incorrect to have pictures of nude men wouldn't it. not only that but I'd probably be called a whore. Stupid sexist society.

I think it shows a complete lack of class, and demonstrates how this mechanic feels about women. The thing is, his garage is his place of business, it is open to the public, and he ought to reasonably assume that some of his customers are going to be women. I would not give such a garage my business, because it is completely unprofessional. It would also cause me to question whether or not that mechanic is trustworthy considering that he would not take his business as seriously as other mechanics who would refrain and even prohibit the display of pornographic material.

Not that I'm anti-Porn; it's just that there's a time and a place for everything.

It's unprofessional in a business, unless that business is a porn shop. It shouldn't be posted in public because of the whole minor issue. (Whether it is nude male or female photos.) And yes, I would be offended. I might not even shop there if that's how they view people. It is very juvenille and screams of perversion. They should respect their customers and hang something that's not going to come off and obviously offensive.

Probably since the beginning of time men have been attracted to the female body. Men love to look at beautiful women. I personally don't think it is nice or appropriate in a place of work, and believe it or not I do think that a lot of places that were once considered dominated by men like firehouses and police depts. are no longer allowing this rediculous display of women to continue. More and more women are choosing careers that were once only available to men. My husband is a firefighter, and they can no longer have girly magazines or posters around because it is sexual in content and they now have quite a few females on the dept. Maybe eventually as women choose these types of careers men will have to respect their co-workers and abstain from these kinds of displays.Men will have to stop if we demand it. Ya know the saying...We treat others how to treat us, well it starts at home ladies. Mothers treat your sons to show a little respect.

It's a tad juvenile. It also depends on how nude they were. Everyone has the right to decorate their work space how they see fit, but it does make them seem very unprofessional to have nude women plastered all over the place. It screams pervert.

I find it distasteful and rude, on the part of professionals, to display something that could cause offense or make a client uncomfortable.

I don't, however, consider it to be the exploitation of the nude models. Something done freely, with pride and loads of money cannot be termed exploitation. After all, those women WANT their pics plastered on walls to get notoriety and money! [A dream come true. <-SARCASM] However, I don't feel like I should have to see them in all their airbrushed...GLORY?

was it a personal shop or a franchise business? If it's a franchise then you just need to notify the parent company if you were offended. Either way, what were you doing in the shop? It's against there insurance policies to allow customers into the working area of the shop for obvious reasons. I think it's great to see the pin ups in the garages, it's a bit nostalgic I think. My g/f put up nude pin-ups in our garage as soon as we moved in.

yeah, thats pretty bad, (i'm not gay, i just have morals) i'm not even sure whether or not thats legal, cause liitle kids could be in a mechanic shop with their paraents and minor arnt allowed to look at porn. i think however, if they had a female mechanic who posted pictures of nude guys (or a guy that posted pictures of nude guys) i think theyed have to agree that there would be no nude pictures period.

no, as long as the woman wanted to be in the pic, and the mechanic wasnt trying to make you look at it. Then i dont think its a big deal. You dont have to use that mechanic. i am not trying to gripe at you. I just really like the fact that people can do whatever they want in some small aspects of life. You may do something others dont like.
