I just bought a kitten about a week ago (saturday) and he was VERY active, on and off. He's been eating regularly, seems to have adjusted extremely well, and would nap/play on and off. This morning he was doing well, but he seems REALLy tired now. He gets up to go to the bathroom and eat, etc., but hes really slow, and every time i put him down he sleeps.

Did he just wear himself out? Please help! Thank you.

It's hard to tell if something's wrong just from this description, but if he is still eating and drinking, that's a good sign. Keep an eye on him in the next 24-48 hours. If he stops doing that or has labored breathing or seems like he can't even lift his head up, then take him into the vet. Otherwise, he just may be settling in now that he's been there a week.

cats will sleep after they eat so if u want him to play try offering a lil less food , maybe he has worms or some other cat related illness , he may even be diabetic , is he drinking more water than normal , urinating a lot more , cats dogs and human can get diabetise . i feel that the best thing u can do for your kitten and family is to tak e him to the vet asap , the sooner tthe better because the longer u wait the more it may cost u in the long run if there is something .

If he's still eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom that's a good sign. But he may have parasites--check his gums. Are they pink (good) or white (anemic)? Is his stool ok--not runny, bloody, or containing worms? Are his eyes clear and his nose wet?
If his eyes are clear, gums pink, stool firm, he should be fine. But you should make sure he's had his shots because he might have feline leukemia.

I think she is fine. Always remember if a pet wont eat and drink thats danger. Otherwise they are fine. I think she is just tired. Like a baby that plays, eventually the tired out.

Please take the kitten to a vet tomorrow, maybe Saturday as most vets are open in the morning.

He did not just wear himself out. Something is wrong and he needs veterinary attention right now.

You need to take him to your vet and ask them to check for anemia....sounds like he may be low on blood cells. Does he have fleas, or did he have alot? Make sure he hasn't gotten in to a hibiscus or fern either, both are a form of poison to cats....
