As opposed to a God who makes earth a living hell?

Maybe Lucifer had the right idea and God isn't worth following.

I won't accept either of them. Only I am responsible for my life.

Maybe you're right -- then again, which is the better parent: the one who lets the child do whatever she wants, go wherever she wants, with whomever she wants - or the one who enforces reasonable restrictions because they are able to see a bigger picture?

Again, the parent who lets their child blow off an education and visits to the doctor -- or the one who oversees both?

Now I don't mean to be overly simplistic -- if GOD is who He reveals Himself to be in the Bible, then there are still a lot of thorny questions to ask . . . and answer.

umm sorry I think you have that backwards. Think about it, regardless of Satan's influence God created everything, or allowed us to create it, good and bad. Sure Satan does want us to enjoy life, at the expense of others. For example, I'm married, never had sex until then and only with my wife. Satan would have me live it up, even leave my wife and kids, at their expense. I might be happy for a short while but I devastated and victimized others just for a short pleasure. In the end I'm miserable which is Satan's true goal.

I might add that God has no problem with us having a little pleasure, it's when we let the pleasure control us that we let someone or something control our choices, and free will is gone, -vices. God doesn't want that, Satan does.

If Satan exists he doesn't want you enjoying life. For centuries organized religion has played on people's fears and taught them that they will only be 'ok' if they stay under the thumb of church authority figures. Naturally those authority figures don't want people out learning independently and loving life lest they start to feel 'ok' even without pastor whoever's blessing. The truth is you can enjoy life, and make a happy life for yourself, and so long as you do it with personal integrity and do no harm to others in the process God will be happy for you. God doesn't need to hold you down to pump up his ego - that is something human beings do and some of them use God as their excuse for it. So don't let those bad people turn you against God. The Wiccans and Jews have it right. They honor their own positive spiritual path without trying to force it on others and as a result are well adjusted tolerant people.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

you have it all backwards here....... let me explain it to you and then please I ask you to rethink what you said.

Satan makes the things that are wrong seem right.......a few examples are premarital sex, homosexuality, adultry, drugs, alcohol, ........but these things can ultimately hurt you......satan isnt gonna come out and say " here I am im an evil liar" instead he will come out and say " oh you know you want to do it and what harm can it cause"......satan is the father of all lies......there is no truth to him or what he says at all.

God is the only one who can give you pure joy. Its not God that makes earth a living hell as you say......its man themselves.......man was given free will to make his own decisions.......when man goes against God and rebels against God full well knowing what he is doing is wrong and God has said its wrong... then thats when life becomes a living hell.

God is not to blame for the decisions of man........God LOVES YOU but won't make decisions for you........He wants to be in a relationship with you, to give you joy and peace that surpasses anything you can imagine. To do that though you must accept Jesus as Lord of your life and accept His gift of eternal life that He has given you by dieing on the cross...then turn your back on all the things that you know are wrong for you to do and try to live your life the best you can according to the way of God.........what have you got to lose? I urge you to try God......if you are right about Him then you have nothing to lose, but if Im right and I know I am then you have a whole new life to look forward to in God as His Child....what a wonderful thing to be.....God's child.

God Bless you richly.

Why assume Lucifer and Satan are the same, they are not. Lucifer is more fun at parties, really, but they do have similar traits, they are 2 very different entities.

Satan does let you do anything, God gave you a free will and there are things out there that will make you feel good but they are against the laws of God. Satan temps you and those things may seem good but they are not.
Pray for strength.
I pray that God give you the strength to fight.

Angel, this answer is a 2 point give-away. You are surrounded by loving family, friends, and neighbors. At this precise moment you are in heaven, this place is really great, blue sky, trees, oceans, furry animals, and some good people too. You are a good person so forget about all those people who preach hate, satanism, and damnation. Life is beautiful! Enjoy!

I hope you aren't even remotely considering this. (And if this is a jest, shame on you.)

Answer me this, why would you want to follow the one who led us into sin?

Whether jealous of man or something else, Satan made it a point to make a fool of man by planting doubt it his head (which still festers today). Earth isn't a living hell because of God. It is that way because people CHOOSE that concept and feeling.

Shed your doubt. Realize the glory of Christ. It all makes sense then and one can find glory in the smallest of things.

God gives us life, and even though i know millions of people who deny it, we have more good experiences in life than bad ones. Besides, what's the point of praising Satan when you know he's just biding his time until you die. I believe if you get murdered then somebody believes your done with life (somebody like Satan..) and when you die of old age or disease or something like that, It's just that you've decided you've had enough life and give up on living.
