They have been there the whole time thru 0 degree winters and 110 degree summers and so on in my vehicle for emergencies. Are they still safe to eat? What would be their shelf life in those kind of conditions?

Check the date on the box or packages. They normally have a 5 year shelf life irregardless of climate changes. If the date is still good, enjoy. Don't forget to keep your water supply handy also in emergencies.
Also where did you get them? I would like to have some on hand also. We can have cold winters were I live also.
Thanks

If the sponsor refuses to bypass forward or if the qualifying dating (the marriage) ends, then you definately can't get a green card from that dating. the only exception is the place the distant places companion has been abused via the U. S. citizen or everlasting resident companion. it quite is quite a VAWA (Violence against women human beings Act) petition and is filed employing sort I-360. It demands a showing of a few thing extra desirable than purely a failed marriage - often it incorporates police comments, scientific institution archives, or different data of tangible and/or psychological cruelty. despite if somebody else can sponsor you relies upon on your contemporary visa status. while you're an overstay, then the only way you may regulate in the U. S. is in keeping with a marriage to a US citizen. once you're nonetheless in valid F-a million status, then you definately will detect a sponsor and alter your status in the U. S.. while you're actually not in valid F-a million status (now not enrolled finished time, e.g.), you will detect a sponsor, yet will would desire to technique at a consulate outdoors the U. S.. F-a million admissions are for length of status and you do no start to accrue unlawful presence till you're advised to bypass away via USCIS, so which you won't have a situation with the three/10 3 hundred and sixty 5 days bars on reentry. you will desire to examine with an attorney earlier leaving the U. S. to make certain.

Check the dates on them. There should be a four-digit date code on the box and on each MRE bag. The first digit is the last number of the year made. The next three digits are the day made. Thus:

3033 = 2003, February 2.

Proceed to ignore them and chow down. The shelf life dates are based not on nutritional value, but tastiness. If you absolutely must know how temperature affects MREs, here's a chart:

I avoid MREs whenever possible. I advise you to do the same.

Woah, how did your MREs remain MIA in the back of your vehicle remains a mystery to me.

But then again, MREs are made to last for at least 4 years, possibly up to 5 years. Don't worry, so long as the original packaging is not physically damaged, compromised, or exposed in any way, its safe to eat. Might want to heat it up first, it taste better that way.

;-) Cheers and enjoy!

MREs were designed to stay fresh in the most adverse conditions, the ones you described are severe, but through UHT (ultra-high temperature), a form of sterilization, no spoilage should occur. Bon appetit!

They should still be good for another decade or two. They were made just for that kind of abuse.

They should have a date on them. If they were new when you put them back there, they are still good.
