When i had my first drink at age 12 (from my stepdad) i only had like 3 sips of it. It was hard lemonde and it made me terribly sick for about a day in a half. i went to the doctors and they told me that i am in a way very allergic to liqour. Now that i am 19 and i have had chances to drink and have drank a little every once in a while ever since i was 17 despite getting sick every time i drank. it has gotten a little better. My boyfriend is turning 21 soon and he really wants me to drink with him and drink more then a few sips. Is there anything i can do to maybe be able to drink more or drink it at all?

If you are allergic DON'T DRINK. Your body is trying to tell you something. There are better ways to celebrate than spending the entire time with your head in the toilet (ick), or worse yet, in the hospital for an allergic reaction. And DUMP that boyfriend. If he cared about you at all he would be considerate of you. If he's trying to get you to drink anyway, he's a moron.

Allergies are nothing to play around with.
You only got really sick last time, this next time could kill you. (Look up anaphylactic reactions on Google)
If your BF really loved you, he would not ask you to risk your health that way.
There are lots of other things you can drink, without alcohol, and just enjoy the company. You might even be the most popular person as you will always be the DD.

Please take good care of yourself and take this seriously!!

Your getting sick is your body's way of telling you,"DON'T DRINK". If you force yourself to drink your allergy could get worse and you could die from anaphilactic shock or alcohol poisoning. Also, If you ignore your sickness and keep drinking it where you don't become sick, it could lead to alcoholism.I have read that where t makes you sick it means that you might have a tendency for alcoholism and this is your body's warning.

I am surprised you would even consider it. Allergies are nothing to play around with. They CAN kill you. Does your boyfriend care so very little for you that he would risk your health just to get you drunk? most adults drink for the relaxing effect of alcohol. What would be your purpose in drinking? How relaxed are you going to be hugging the toilet bowl? Think this through before you hurt yourself.

Great heavens, child! Your boyfriend should not expect you to celebrate his birthday with something you are allergic to. You can get some sparkling grape juice or just a soft drink. It's his birthday you're celebrating and it doesn't take liquor to do ANYTHING!! If he cares about you, he should be very happy just to have you with him. Talk to him about it! If he doesn't understand and support you, you'd better re-think the relationship.

if you are very allergic to liquor my suggestion is not to drink any at all, talk to your boyfriend about your situation. pleasing your boyfriend is not worth risking your health over. you could also try drinking mixed drinks with very little alcohol in it. the have non-alcoholic beers that u could drink, now they have a little alcohol in it, but not enough to make you sick or impaired. what ever you decide, be safe.

some people just dont take it as well, some people are lightweights, some have weak stomachs and the lucky few can drink all night with a strong stomach and maybe wake up without a hangover, but remember, it is poison afterall 8)

Why don't you go out and get some poison ivy, rub it all over yourself and see if you can build up an immunity to it? Take the hint! You're not supposed to be drinking!!

You can't do anything if you're allergic to it. I don't see why you have to drink anyways. Just stop making a big deal about it and don't drink.

If your boyfriend wants you to drink with him, he is NOT a friend.
Maybe he is just looking for a drinking partner.
If you want to stay alive, stay away from alcohol.
I would respectfully submit that you need a boyfriend who is considerate and will respect you.
