I'm sorry to say pancreatic cancer has a very low survival rate. A small percentage of people can have an operation done to remove the tumor, although, once the cancer has spread to organs, lymph nodes or blood vessels, an operation can no longer be done. If the cancer has spread too far, ask the doctor about Pallative Procedures that will focus on making your uncle comfortable. He could also try a clinical trial, which is testing of new treatments that haven't yet shown to be effective. However, clinical trials are a good option if the cancer is advanced. I'm very sorry to hear about your uncle, but you and your family are in my prayers. Good Luck!

It all really depends on what size/stage the cancer is at. Without knowing this information, it is difficult to say what condition he will be in. Pancreatic cancer does usually have a poor prognosis. With that being said, treatments include surgery and/or chemotherapy/radiation. Best of luck.

I can't answer your question as I do not have not much knowledge of cancer but I just wanted to tell you that my aunt was also just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and she is choosing not to treat it. My heart goes out to you and your uncle. Please just be there for him.

If the cancer was caught early he can possibly have a Whipple surgery and this might help or possibly be curative. If the cancer was not caught early then prognosis is not good.

The Whipple surgery takes a gifted surgeon so be careful who you get to do it if this is the option he needs. good luck

Sorry to tell you, but the overall 5 year survival rate is less than 5%. It is one of the worst cancers to get because it is usually diagnosed to late to cure. Life expectancy depends on what stage it is in when it is diagnosed.

Answer above is correct.
