I've known him all my life but he's a year older then me. We talk all the time but I wouldn't say we were best friends. PLEASE give advice. I really want him to ask me out. help!

Perhaps you could ask him out instead of him asking you. Sometimes it's nice when the woman asks the man out. In my experience, it helps me to see that you're interested, that you'll initate, and that you want to be with me.

i dont understand the concept of girls waiting for guys to ask them out....even tho its traditional but guess what girls staying at home and cleaning and cooking and raising the kids was traditional too....if that has changed why cant girls change their approach and BE the ones to ask out the guys rather than wait until its too late.

If you know him that well, ask him out, or better yet, tell him that he's your boyfriend.
Otherwise you could flirt, but boys like being hit over the head.
