I had friends who wintered there for years and loved it.
Said there was so much to do and you could never get bored with the place unless you were a hermit. marlyne B

Myrtle Beach is great. I went there twice this summer. Very fun place with a LOT of stuff to do. Memorial Day weekend can be hell though unless you are into motorcycles or like to see women with their as ses out.

I have visited there, and it is a great town other than the week before and the week of Memorial Day weekend. During those times, there are tons of bikers (white and then black respectively). It is loud, and the hotel rooms are overpriced. Needless to say, the city makes most of the money for the year during those times - writing citations. Other than that, it is alright.

Definitely a tourist trap! I haven't lost anything there and hope not to do so. Putrid water supply, itchy sand fleas and biting swamp flies keep me away.

Kinda touristy. Okay, I guess. Cheaper than other coastal party towns.
