Im takin 40MG accutane and im wonderin is 40 MG weak to kill acne? I havent seen the results i wanted yet but i can tell my face is gettin a little better barely. I want to take a higher dosage like 80MG cause i want to see results ASAP and for the side effects i only got dry lips that it.
MY doctor told me i should take 40 mg ONE TIME A DAY ( it said on box 2 times a day) because its my first time tryin it and she said later on she will increase the dosage.
So people do you think a week and 4 days is to short to judge the effectiveness of Accutane? Should i wait 2 more weeks or more???
and can i use oilve oil on my face overnight???? or vaseline????

DO EXACTLY WHAT YOUR DOCTOR TELLS YOU ABOUT THE DOSAGE FOR THIS DRUG...It takes a little while and in the meantime the doctor will probably increase the dosage gradually...this is a very harsh drug but it works...my daughter's doctor gradually increased the dosage over a period of 5 months and had blood work done monthly and kept close tabs on joint pain, depression and other factors. Drink LOTS of water and use Aquafor on your lips...ask the doctor about what to use on your face at night. BE CAREFUL. good luck

My husband has taken acutane. It usually will take more than 2 weeks to see an actual difference. he took it for 6 months and does not have acne anymore. everynow and then he may get one or two so he will take one pill every now and then. But I have to admit he looks great now. His face has cleared up and his back. no more acne yay, thank god for acutane. Just be careful dont try for a baby while you are taking that. I would follow what ur doctor says. Hopefully it will work for you like it did for my husband. remember to take it religiously, and you will soon see the after effects of it,(no more acne) Good luck and oh my husbands skin dryed out really bad on it also, he got severly dry lips i mean severly dry thats the only thing he hated about it. Just FYI my husband was 20 when he started and he is now 21. But if you get severly dry skin or lips ask ur dermatologist if they can give u something for it. GOOD LUCK keep taking it, because it truly works

Most treatments take anywhere from 2 -6 weeks before you see really terrific results. Please wait it out...also vaseline is fine for your skin, but only use it where you really need it...if its just for dry skin, buy a facial moisturizer that is oil free and sayd right on it that its for oily skin. Aveeno makes nice moisturizers that wont help you break out.

just keep listening to him!!!! there is no wonder drug that cures it overnight. you may have to wait 4-5 weeks for full results!!! DONT TAKE MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
