The only reason it takes that long is because of administrative error.
It should take no longer than a month after entering basic training, because of the time it takes for entries to post into a member's pay (it called Update & Extract - U&E, in the Marine Corps). Irregardless of when it is reported, the monies are paid back to the effective date of entitlement. In this case your spouse was married before entering military service, so BAH entitlement would be paid back to the first date of active service.

If the order is already in place than yes u will. But if it hasn't been made officaly yet then no u wont not until it is offical throught the courts. And boot camp can take up to 4 mths sweetie. You go to boot camp for 9 wks then u have to do ur ait training (train for ur MOS)

What branch of the service? I know that for the Air Force it certainly didn't take 3 months to kick in. We would have been on the street if that were the case. However I am sure that you would get back pay if you don't get it right away. You should be able to go to the finance office on base and straighten it out.

yeap. base pay usually takes about 6-8 weeks to kick in, as do all other allowances like BAH and FSH. it is all paid retroactively. It's a good idea to make arrangements ahead of time and assume that it will be just before he graduates Basic training/boot camp before he gets paid. call your creditors now and make arrangements to either pay late or ask about being forgiven late fees.

You will be paid retroactive the reason they don't pay you right away is if your spouse does not make it through boot camp you are not entitled to receive it.

how you could bypass about doing that would want to be to ask the military liaison once you ultimately bypass to MEPS for the enlistment procedure. in simple terms tell them you would possibly want to favor to leave previous to you've been instructed. good luck!
