Of course we should care. What kind of world would this be if nobody cared? It may be true that one person can't change the world, but if everybody cared and we all worked together to do something about it, then the world would be a much better place to live in. Just because you tune out the bad things in life doesn't mean they will go away.

Instead of letting the weight of all the problems bring you down, get out there and do something to help someone. Even if it’s nothing more than offering a kind word or a smile. You’ll be surprised what that will do to make you feel better as well.
None of us can solve all the problems in the world, but we should try to help those that we can.

Sometimes I wish America would resort back to the isolationist policies of the 30's and 40's, i.e., America take care of America and to hell with the rest of the world.

we should do our best always to improve things for others and for ourselves so tuning everything out is the last thing we should do. if we tune out and don't care we make things very hard for our future generations and even for the children of today.

We cannot allow ourselves to be dysfunctional because of what is going on in the world. We need to be aware and to voice our opinions when we can and help when and where we can but that is all we can do. We also cannot allow ourselves to become numb to what is going on either. Sometimes we see so much violence it becomes less horrific because we expect things to happen. Somewhere each individual must be able to set there own boundaries as to how much of the violence they should take in and absorb. But all of us as a whole need to do as much as we can to help out in whatever ways we can.

I think we should always care about everyone on this earth but not to the point where it's making us sick. You can't take on everyone's problems, but you can certainly care very much about it. You have your life and you need to take care of you. I don't think ignoring a problem is ever the answer.

if you can't function then things are in trouble. Ideally, if possible, you should care enough that you feel your actions are doing some benefit to the world. But that is vague i admit.

Big questions. Boil it down to the world is shrinking, populations are growing and global solutions are needed for the human race to survive another 200 years. Do we need to care?...... obvious answer.

We should care. There are tangible things that we can do to improve the world in the corner where we are.
