Consider the ULTRA SOUND PET ALARM.
This device is similar in that it can emit an Ultra
Sound when animals get within a certain range. However,
it also has an "Audible" setting so that people can
hear when an animal enters a restricted area. This
unit does not need a transmitter to actuate its alarm;
it works off motion and has both a "low" and "high"
setting. It is great to use on countertops, doorways
or automobiles. Cats will be frightened by its sound
and immediately leave areas where you have it installed.
This is a great device to use when you want to keep
cats off a certain surface, out of a particular room
or away from a certain area in the home. They work
off a 9 volt battery and have an effective range
of 2-8 feet. However, some cats are pretty
stubborn and may need a bit more persuasion...

Purchase two cases of canned tuna. Take an ice pick and put one small hole in each can. Take all the cans
and place them behind your neighbors fence. The cats will go there every time you let them out of the house. They will not go to your car.

Alternative...
Trade in your cat for a dog.

I really don't think that there is much that you can do to keep them off of the cars. They like the warmth - and there's really nothing you can do to keep your car cool, especially if you were just driving it.

You could maybe look at pet stores or something for cat repellant, but I really think that the repellants are for furniture or something inside of the house. But check it out. Maybe some of the "wild animal" repellents might work against stray cats - I know for sure that Petsmart has wild animal repellent, but I'm sure that just about any large pet store would have something.

i have a few cats myself, and i have had the same problem. If you start you engine while they're on it, or drive it around them, they will probly get scared of it and keep away from any car, as long as u move it around often. Other than that, i dont know whats possible, so tell me!

Hide in the car, and when the cat comes to get on it, honk the horn. If this seems too cruel, you could turn on the window washer spray. Or if this seems too cruel, take it home with you. Or you could get a stuffed dog and put it on the hood of your car. Theres probably something cats hate worse than dogs, maybe put a porcelain doll on the hood. Cats hate small children.

I think they also make cat repellent. Cats also hate water, maybe you could put a tub of water on the hood.

you can probably wax the car with spicy odor or sour odor, maybe citronella can do the job. observe one night to see what happens to the cats. dont be afraid to chase them away as usual, because you need to tell the cats that is your car, not theirs.
