Many people do appreciate Jehovah's Witnesses. Globally, there are only about 6.5 million active Jehovah's Witnesses; a total of about 16 million associate themselves with Jehovah's Witnesses. Yet their publications "The Watchtower" and "Awake!" enjoy circulations of about 27 million and 32 million per issue.

It is true that Jehovah's Witnesses are not loved by everyone.

Some people hate Jehovah's Witnesses out of ignorance, or over some misunderstanding. A few may have had a bad personal experience with an individual who claimed to be a Jehovah's Witness, and prejudicially extended their animus to this entire Christian religion.

However, it seems that the majority of anti-Witness hatred is motivated by religious intolerance and bigotry. A few may even be motivated against their Christian worship by the unseen 'god of this system of things', Satan the Devil.

(2 Corinthians 4:4) the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers

Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:

(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.

(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.

(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

You have two questions:

Why do Christian attack what they don't understand? Or better why does anyone attack what they don't understand? The rephrased question is obvious, human nature including yours. The original makes a claim that Christian attack because they don't understand? Got an example of something you understand that is beyond Christians (note plural) understanding. Frankly, I doubt it. Prove me wrong and e-mail me your enlightened knowledge that I as a Christian just can't understand. [The ball is in your court with this.]

Your second question regarding Jehovah Witnesses. What witness has this group provided? They claim to have "knowledge" based on biblical sources? Let's take one notion, the end times began in 1916? Really. And how did they arrive at this date. Not from the biblical sources available, but that is all right, they will just rewrite the sources. I want to focus on the claim 1916 is the beginning of the end times. Find a bible (I recommend you use something from www.biblegateway.com ) and read Acts 1:7He said to them: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority." Yes just one verse is all it takes from a Christian that doesn't understand.

So when the next person stops at your door step and says "the sky is falling", look up (actually look it up) and see.

I do not dislike Jehovah's Witnesses and I do not attack what I do not understand. I dislike the "teachings" of the Jehovah's witnesses as I do know what the teachings are and I know it to be false teachings, yet at the same time, I respect their right to believe as they so choose. There are many kind, good and sincere people who do believe and I have nothing but respect and love for them but feel they are being misled and not following the true teachings of Jesus Christ.

I think Christians attack not necessarily what they don't understand, but more what doesn't conform to their belief. I dislike Jehovah's Witnesses, because behind their calm, pleasant demeanor; i still get the impression they really hate me.

stunning would not equate to being Christian. Christianity is predicated on the guy of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is God interior the flesh...the 2d individual of the Trinity...who humbled himself to return right down to Earth in human style to be sacrificed as a substitutionary atonement for our sins. In Jehovah's Witness theology, Jesus Christ is the archangel Michael, and is a created being, not God which has existed considering eternity. they're heretics, not Christians in any respect. Christians are people who've placed their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation. with the help of ways, in case you comprehend Jehovah's Witnesses and their theology you be attentive to that they exclude Christians from being stored...they're the "basically genuine faith". How's that for being stunning? :)

i don't dislike the JW. while we often debate and discuss, they are the ones that generally leave when scripture comes into play. recently i had a lovely conversation with a JW and it was very Christian like. I'm sorry you have troubles times, i would question your approach. if it was similar to this, the rush to pre judge may have been the case.

well i met a jehovas witness on line. he lied to me and just said that he had friends all over , he didnt totally lie, just half truths. he said he would send me a bible that was much easier to understand. he knew that i read kjv & niv.
never once did he mention his true religion!!
deceptiveness is not of GOD!!
their bible is alot like ours except they change things in it , mainly about hell.
yes GOD is love, he loves , but he must also punish the wicked. why?
because that just how it is.
i dont hate j. witnesses. i know they mean well.
but i do feel its a cult.
they think we shouldnt get blood if we need it like if we were in a car wreck!! they say use something alternative or die! wow!
God gave men minds 2 be doctors and help us.
i believe all our bible ,king james says about blood, is dont eat it!
cook meat properly.
i dont want anyone deceptive around me, no matter waht religion.
this man sent jehovas witnesses to my door.he lives in fla, we live in nc.
this is when i knew of his deception. the bible came too.
i saw how it was twisted.

Most Christians I know don't hate Jehovah's Witnesses because of the religion itself, they get upset because they don't like people coming to their house to preach their religion to them.

i don't dislike Jehovah witnesses,i know they have their own bible version and has contorted the word of god. sometimes some of you guys can come across as pushy and arrogant when you go to peoples doors and stuff but i don't care to much, however i can see why it would bother some people.

I don't dislike JWs, they are nice people, but they belong to a cult, they follow the false teachings of Charles Taze Russell, and they don't believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
