Apparently monkeys and neanderthals don't have souls (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=As_lI9q7TgTZLlNRpsbfUeHsy6IX?qid=20060928184410AA3yLmB)
Humans are the only ones with souls so when did that happen? Was it the first Cro-magnons or sometime after that?

We developed a soul gene through evolution. Some have more soul than others. Compare James Brown to George Bush.

Your question seems to contradict itself. If God guided evolution, then there replace into no 'factor in evolution' that triggered God again to a determination human beings have been worth of souls. God might have had it planned out until now hand. additionally, if God guided evolution, even the ape ancestors of modern human beings might have had 'souls,' simply by fact the Bible exhibits that mammals and birds have souls. (Genesis a million:20-21, 24, 30) the right question could be: whilst did God come to a determination that human beings have been God's photograph, in line with Genesis a million:26? inspite of the incontrovertible fact that, there is not any reason to have self belief that God used evolution in any respect.

So Some would distinguish between "soul" and "spirit" and would say that all living beings are or have a soul. Others see "soul" as similar to "spirit", a God-consciousness, and so say that is the distinguishing feature between those of the animal kingdom and those of the human kingdom.

If you read the opening chapters of the Book of Genesis you will find that God CREATED all sorts of animals, birds, fish, fowl, etc. but that He FORMED humankind of the dust of the ground and BREATHED into his nostrils the Breath of Live and Adam became a living soul.

So humans did not "evolve the ability to have souls"! It was a direct divine gift of the Creator!

Strictly my opinion. A "soul" is a fictional thing, created when the Bible was written to persuade people to live their lives according to the lessons the Bible teaches. Example: If you live a good, wholesome life, your soul would ascend into Heaven when you die. But pretty much is just a ruse to convince people not to be a bad person in life. Live a good life, don't kill, steal, swear excessively and you will not rise into Heaven. You will be dead..just like everyone else. But at least you won't be considered a bad person when you die. The Bible is merely a list of morals people SHOULD live by. But mostly common sense.

Humans were born with souls from the start and we were created that way.
The question is based on incorrect evidence. Neanderthals are people that had rickets. When you look at where they are found, it is in central Europe. The thought is that darker skinned people got too far north and werent able to get enough vitamin D in their diet

We don't know precisely. All we know is that God first formed the biological bodies of human beings from inorganic matter (both the Bible and evolutionary biology tell us that), and then having formed the biological human He breathed into it an immortal soul and spiritual nature, thereby creating it in His own image and likeness, and making it truly human for the first time.

You well get hammered by the self righteous who sin every single day. Creation or Evolution have yet to explain how we came about, though Evolution holds more ground with me. I thought people were not suppose to judge, but that's all I see come out of the mouths of those self righteous ones. Hypocrasy.

It started when they learned how to write fiction. And monkeys and neanderthals are the same as us - totally.

Only people with the letter "y" in their name have souls. Didn't you know that? You're remarkably unobservant.
