Maybe some of them are kidding and want to take life less seriously than you do. Just because someone knows the right answer doesn't guarantee that they will be motivated to just provide the straight info when the alternative can be more enjoyable. People kid around in face-to-face conversations - this is the same friendliness through the Internet.
At least some of those "ignorant" ones bother to use the spell checker which non-ignorant you doesn't care to do.
