In Chinese writing do you read from top to bottom or from bottom to top? Also from left to right or right to left?
i am painting an art piece with Chinese writings and i want it done as properly as possible.

that depends ,anything is ok .only you can understand.as a common way,you should read from top to bottom,left to right.

well nowadays , at least in newspapers, it's left to right , top to bottom..same as english...but in older chinese it was top right to bottom right then top left to bottom left.

From left to right and from up to down. Each character has to be written in order too. There are web pages that teach you the strokes proper order.

top to bottom (written vertically) and from right to left for traditional way of writing. left to right for and written horizontally fo modern way.
