its not one of those things it jsut happends at an exact date, for many people its is really different. genetics, blah balh. the ? is when di du start. i have heard of girls starting at 7..thats incredible

It seems they are starting younger these days. And these days it seems breasts are getting larger at a younger age too.. Must be all those hormones in milk these days.

Girls don't start having a period at the age of 7. The only way that will happen is if the child is been messed with in the inappropriated way. Now a girl will start at the age 11 and sometimes it might be later

It all depends on your own individual body structure among other things such as hormones in your food.
In health class in college we were told that you will not start your period unless your body has reached a weight of 100lbs. It has something to do with the amount of hormones your body produces per pound. That is why when women are bulimic or anorexic, and their weight drops drastically, they begin to have very irregular periods.
Me personally, I was 11. I think the average age is 12 years old.

I was 12 years old when I started mine. Girls are starting earlier now days because of the changes in the food that's out there. It makes your body mature faster. Don't feel bad about yourself if you get yours earlier or later than a friend. Everyone's body is different and every girl goes through this! Good luck! =)

Seems to be different for every girl, I've heard of girls as young as 9 and as late as 15.
I was 12, just starting high school.
Can't wait till I'm older and they're done with.

I started my period age 10 it was horriable. My younger sisters used to tease me. Now my friends on the other hand thought it was the coolest thing ever! I didnt know what the hell was going on because my momma never told me about it. My girls are getting close to that age now so thanks for the idea of talking to my girls about it now. Girls are growing up so fast now. It's really scary.

I was 12. 7 is REALLY RARE. Most times body constitution determines the time you have your period.
