If so, what would be the process? Have not been in a hospital or doctors office in 10yrs.

Well, sometimes, but it could be an inner ear problem, or you just need new glasses, or you have such bad allergies your ears are stuffed shut throwing off your balance, OR, High blood pressure, or any combination of the above. Most of which will NOT show up on a brain scan.

yeah a brain scan can help in finding this out as will an mri or a ct scan....although any of these tests may come back normal. dizziness can be caused by so many things...have your ears checked, your sinuses....new meds? stopped any meds you were on suddenly? allergies, and stress can all cause dizziness. it sucks i go through it all the time, and my doc still has no clue what's cauzing it. A drug called meclazine helps w/ the vertigo, but knocks you out. try an atihistimine like zyrtec to clear up amy fluid that might be in your eustacion tubes...good luck!!

Yes if there is a physical reason--such as the presence of a tumour. No if if it is due to chemical reasons such as starvation from malnutrition.

id check the ear first..alot more likely to cause dizziness
