in greece TODAY who goes to school, is it free, and how long do they usually go?

Today nobody is going to school because of the Greek teachers' strike!!!!! Hope it will end shortly!!!!
Normally the obligatory education is 9 years. (6 years elementary school and 3 years Gymnasium).
Then another 3 years for Luceum.
There are 2 types of education : public schools (free of payment) and private (payment of fees)
