Side parts with loose waves are very in now and sound like it should be an easy style for your hair type. Whatever you do choose something that is not too trendy, that way when you look at the picture a few years from now you won't cringe.

I think girls' school pictures look best when the hair frames the face. So i would say that ponytails or even half ponytails are out. Also, the best school pictures have a "classic" hairstyle, not one that is faddish. Hair falling freely around the face is nice. Anything that looks natural and effortless.

Never a ponytail. A side one is ok, but always frame the face. Pulling all hair to the back tends to make your forehead take over the shot or make you look like a boy. You always need something going on in a head shot besides just your head. Curls, bangs, straight, a bob, waves, something.

What I did for picture day was put it in a loose bun, with a few pieces framing my face, and a cute headband. It looked great, and didn't hide my face. I have a heart-shaped face, hair about 4 inches below my collarbone. It's pretty different, but in my opinion, this style looks great on everyone.
Good luck!

You have the kind of hair I have...Try pinning back a small amount of hair from the front....if you have bangs pin them back, if you dont then pin about an inch to 2 inches back from the front. That looks pretty cute. Or try curling then ends if you can. Hope I helped and good luck!

Gather Some or a little of your hair in the back of your head. or just leave it down. A ponytail will make you look like a boy in the pic. trust me

you could pull it up or half up but with side swept bangs in the front. i don't think pulling it all back for pictures looks good on anyone, unless you do the little poof at the top of your head. you could also try wearing it all down, straight, and pull it to one side either in a ponytail, or just leave it down. good luck!

soft curls and half ponytails work great!!! but i also like shiny straightened hair with an extreme part on the left side of my head but sometimes others look better with a right side part

It doesn't matter! In 30 years it will still look funny!
Styles change! Grab yearbooks from the 70s and 80s if you don't believe me!

it should be the hairstyle that requires no maintenance. pick a style that you don't have to touch up or comb. i would suggest something very simple that requires little hair product...ie gel mousse or hairspray. natural is always better as far as style goes.
good luck
