Not about the amount of money. What the 14 year old buys, that it has some meaning to what she would like. I would think that would be most important. Too much money spent wouldn't even seem proper..it is the thought that goes into it. Since your teen is unemployed you will be paying. What your teen can offer is thought....let your teen choose on his/her own with out spending more than I would say 20 dollars...it is the meaning..something your fiance would enjoy just for her even if its her favorite kind of coffee or a gift certificate to the movies for your teen and fiance to go together with metion in the card that your teen would love to spend a day with her.

Your dads fiance is not expecting anything lavish from you. It's the thought that counts. If you really like your dads fiance write down some things that she likes and price each item then select something that's in your budget. If you only have $5.00 go to the Dollar Tree pick out 2 or 3 items and a bag and call it a day.
Don't lose sleep over it ok!

If he has his own money, then that's his business how he spends it. If Dad is paying, then it should be modest, unless the kid is trying to make some brownie points with the woman to be. I'd say $25 tops. Perhaps a gift card, show tickets, dinner pass. Nothing of a personal nature from a child that is not a blood relative because someone will start talking, if you know what I mean!

How about buy her something that comes with much thought. Make it something personal but also something she can use. For example, maybe a card and some flowers. Or, something for her office desk if she works in a place with one. Think about what hse like to do and go from there. You could take her out to breakfast, which is cheaper than dinner, and spend that time alone 1:1. You could make her breakfast in bed. A bubble bath with rose petals and lit candles would be a nice touch as well- but inexpensive. I'm sure she'd appreciate whatever you give as long as its from the heart.

$0.
The best present a kid can give is handmade with thought and time put in it. Listen to her stories and remember what she likes and don't like. A simple card that shows you remember something she mentioned goes along way. Make coupon book with (1 free car wash, or 1 day with a well behaved kid, etc). Be creative, but most importantly, be sincere. No one expects anything money related from you. The best presents are from the heart.

Wow, I'm impressed that you want to get her a gift, very nice!!! I would say around $10-$20, I would ask your dad if there is something you can help out with to raise the money- maybe she would like some flowers. She is a lucky "almost step-mom" already to have such a thoughtful kid in her future.

10 dollars or less. seriously.
if i was the lady, i'd be very pleased with just a hallmark (nice) card, maybe more thoughtful than funny card, and a few sentences written by you. that's something she can look back on in later years, women love stuff like that.
and maybe a few pcs of an expensive chocolate to go w/ the card.
flowers die, and it's pretty impersonal.

Depends on how much do you want to spend, it's not a matter of how much. You can make something yourself and not spend any money and it may mean more to her than something store bought, it depends also on what kind of relationship you have with her!!!
