What is the Name of your Church? and Denomination?

Question

I want to know what type of people ask or answer religious questions. What church do you go to? Is it a Sabbath (or 7th day church) or Sunday worship church? What is the summary of your churches belief. I said summary people. We don't want to hear more than that, unless someone asks you.

I also am a member of the Lord's Church.
We "describe" the church as the church of Christ. This is not an exclusive term for the church. The bible describes the church in several other ways (the body of Christ, the church of God, the Kingdom, etc).

We come together to worship the Lord on the first day of the week (Sunday), because that's when the early members of the church met to worship, sing psalms, give and take the lords supper. We do this, and we do this EVERY week because it is scriptural.

If you want a summary of the church I recognize, read the bible. I don't mean that disrespectfully, but that's the only scriptural authority we have for the establishment, practices, and doctrine, of the church. I consider myself a member of THAT same first century church; His. And, I believe it's scriptural to describe it as such.

I don't advocate that everyone that "describes" themselves as members of the church of Christ are doing according to his will. But to NOT ascribe to man-made names, doctrines, and creeds is a start.

There is no earthly head of the church of Christ. Christ alone is it's head. We are all equal members of his body.

I quit going to church when I was sixteen. I didn't have many nice clothes to wear so I felt embarassed. Being at such a young age and all, I was impressionable.

Denomination: Chrisitan - Disciples of Christ (30th? largest denomination in USA) The churches are named like Bon Air Christian Church. The denomination is Disciples of Christ. I do not know why it is that way. The churches don't have the denomination in the title.

Later in life, I connected somewhat with Catholics because I have a lot of Irish in me, but still I haven't been to church in years. I don't think that I would fit in very well. I'm schizophrenic, blah, blah, blah... - a whole hosts of reasons.

I attend the Church of the Nazarene. I won't tell the exact church, since I don't want anyone stalking me! ;) We are a Sunday worship church. We have two different services on Sunday, and a midweek service on Wednesday. Most Nazarene churches conform to that standard.

We follow the Wesleyan/Armenian tradition of beliefs, making our doctrine closer to the Methodists than the Baptists. We believe that accepting Jesus Christ as Savior is the only way to heaven. We especially emphasize the Person of the Holy Spirit, and His role in guiding and teaching believers. We belive that the Bible is the inspired word of God. We believe that everything you need to have, to understand the Bible, is between your ears right now. We belive that Christians ought to live lives that leave no doubt as to our belief.

Victory Hill Ministries, we go on Sundays, we have two services to accomodate out church growth from 12 people to over 500 now. Our churches main mission is of course to win people to Jesus and we use any means necessary mostly in the form of outreaches and special programs. We love people no matter where they are in life. There is not one of us that is perfect, but we do strive to become more and more like Jesus.

church of Christ .The churches of Christ are not a denomination. There is no home office, no headquarters, and no written creed.the Bible is our only creed. Many do not understand that the Lord's church can, should, and must be a church without being a denomination. With or without a building, the churches of Christ have always existed from the time Jesus founded it some 2000 years ago. we believe one must be baptized to be saved, Mark 16:16 He who believes AND is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

I attend Pasadena Foursqare Church and our services are on Sunday. Our biggest belief is in having a personal relationship with God and that carries over in to our relationships with people.

I am a United Methodist & attend Bosqeville United Methodist Church In Bosqeville, Tx., a small farming community on the N. edge of Waco. We believe that God loves everyone no matter what their ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, gender, etc., etc., etc. We try to do the same and we welcome any & all who wish to come to our church.
