Why is it, that a dog doesn't like you blowing in his face, yet when in a car, he sticks his head out the window? No comments about my bad breath please.

To Kate, regarding hurting my dog.

I have, and never would hurt my dog. Maybe you should learn to read the questions and then learn to write before you comment.

Im guessing because when you blow in their face tons of scents hit them (not saying your breath is bad.) If you blow softly and slowly they will often sniff instead of back away.

I think it is because maybe they don't know it's coming and when they stick their head out on purpose they are expecting it and like it because they get a rush from it. Also when you blow in their face they have so many different scents being throwen at them and they are not sure how to react so they pull away and shut their eyes.

Great question, I was thinking of that today with my puppy. He loves the wind blowing in his face outside and in the car but when I do it he tries to bite at my face.

Dogs keep thier ears blocked when they stick thier head out a window, if you catch him off guard, and scince he has better than great hearing, it hurts his ears, it's like when someone blows into a phone.

Because blowing in a dogs face is more direct and intense than wind. Have you ever had someone blow in your face? Wind in your face is nicer!

I've always thought that dogs do't like it when you blow in their faces because it's a sign of aggression.

i guess your dog doesn't like it.....but my dog doesn't mind.......he's a beagle.....and the only reason they stick their heads out of the window is because they might get car sick and they might have a sore stomache..........
