I believe that they were technically considered to be husband and wife. They were never called bro & sis but...they did share a heck of a lot of genetic material. What with the rib nonsense and all that.

maguyver727: The idea that humans were once both and then got separated is kinda sorta stolen from Plato. Badly, but it's still Plato. So...yeah.

To say they are clone is not logical, by definition, a "clone" means a copy. Since Adam is male, Eve is female, that is not a clone copy.

According to the Bible, Eve were made from a bone of Adam, why? Adam was made from scratch, once he is made, the ingredient that need to made a human is already in Adam, so take a bone from Adam to make Eve is the most efficient thing to do.
Adam and Eve did not came from the same mother, so they are not biologically brother and sister.
And yes, I believe they were married by God, since God blessed them and commanded them to replenish and multiply, and said man will cleave unto his wife, and be one flesh.

No they were not brother and sister, God formed them both with his own 2 hands,,,, now were they ever married,, YES they were ,,,, in Gods way when Adam knew his wife,, (which is took her virginity) then in the eyes of GOD they were husband and wife,, It is still the same now, when you lay down with someone, and you are both virgins, in Gods eyes you are married. I know the world does not like to hear this but it is the truth, that is GODS WAY. MARRIAGE is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled,,, that is what this means....

I think Eve came from Adams rib making her a clone except that she has XX chromosome and Adam has XX chromosomes. So technically they are the same person.

Well, based on the story, I'd have to conclude Eve was Adam's female clone, which is a fascinating concept in itself!

Of chorse.

Gen. 2:21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

Just because God took Adams rib and made woman, doesn't mean that she was his sister. If you want to look at it that way, then she was more than a sister. She was his flesh! That is why God said, you will be "one flesh" when your married.

22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

This is the institution of marriage. One flesh, cleaving unto each other, leaving your father and mother and being with your other flesh (or better half)

24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Adam was Male and Female starting out, then GOD put Adam to sleep and took out the Female parts.
Eve was Adams Wife.
Men have breasts.
All baby's start out Female.
You become whole when you become one Flesh with your Wife. Unless you have the Gift from GOD to stay Single.

If the story of the Adam's rib was true, Eve would have been a clone, and therefore, she would actually have been Steve.

No they weren't, and no they weren't. Technically, since Eve was supposedly made from one of Adam's bones, she was a clone.
