If it's some kind of beef roast, it's good with mushroom soup covering it, then Lipton's Onion soup (dry mix) over that. Put it in the oven until it's tender. Very very YUMMY! Serve with mashed or baked potatoes. Peas and applesauce.. delicious meal and easy to make.

Rub the contents of a packet of dry onion soup mix into the meat. Place the roast in a foil roasting bag or on a very large piece of heavy duty foil. Cover the meat with one can of whole berry cranberry sauce. Close the bag or make a sealed foil envelope. Place into a shallow baking pan to catch any spills. Bake in a 300-325 degree oven about an hour per pound. Pray for leftovers - which are even better, if that's possible. Serve with steamed rice or broad noodles and a green veggie. Unreal.

I usually use one of three different recipes:

1. Just season Hy's and Montreal Steak Spice and place on the rotisserie. Very yummy.

2. Light season with with your favourite spices and then coat with an onion soup mix. Again place on rotisserie.

3. Mix a variety of spice and parmesan cheese. Coat the roast. Place in the oven at 450 for the first 15min and turn down to 350 for the rest of the cooking time.

I always take a large covered baking dish, season roast with fresh ground pepper & a sprinkle of salt. Place in baking dish & cover with 1 pkg Lipton onion soup mix . Pour one can of Campbell's cream of mushroom soup & place a few dots of butter. Cover and bake in pre-heated oven @ 350 for about 1 to 1 & 1/2 hour. Open lid & add potatoes peeled & chunked, onion slices & baby bella mushrooms. Cook til veggies are fork tender & meat is done. Serve with coleslaw, pinto beans & hot cornbread. Yummy!

Roast Beef with Root Veggie Gravy
Yield: 6 servings

2 tablespoons cracked black pepper
2 teaspoons salt
10 cloves garlic, crushed
1 (3-pound) sirloin tip roast, trimmed
2 teaspoons minced fresh thyme leaves
Dash nutmeg
2 cups peeled and diced sweet potatoes
1 cup sliced parsnips
1 cup diced onion
1 cup sliced carrots
4 cups beef stock, preferably low-sodium

Preheat oven to 400ºF.

In a small bowl, mash the pepper, salt, and garlic together to form a paste. Spread the paste all over the roast. Sprinkle roast with thyme and nutmeg. Spread vegetables over the bottom of a roasting pan, and pour beef stock over. Put the roast on a wire rack and place over vegetables in roasting pan. Roast for 15 minutes, reduce the oven temperature to 325ºF, and continue cooking until roast reaches an internal temperature of 130ºF. Remove the roast to a platter, tent with foil, and let rest for at least 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, make the gravy: transfer the root vegetables to a colander with a bowl set underneath and let stock drain. Transfer stock to a blender and add root vegetables, a little at time, to the blender and puree with juices. Continue adding root vegetables and puree until the gravy has reached the consistency you desire. Slice meat and arrange on a serving platter. Plate meat, pour some gravy on top, and serve.

Put the roast in a crock pot with 1 liter of coke. Put it on high for 8 hours and the roast should shred itself and then mix it with bbq sauce. This makes great bbq sandwiches.

I don't eat red meat but I heard my friend say that you can put some veg and onions around it in a big roaster and pour a can/bottle of bear on it and roast it. It's supposed to taste really good!
