search your computer for .bmp .jpg .txt .bak files and delete all you dont want. You will be surprised how many of these little files are cluttering your space.

Good day, u can clear up yur temporary internet files folder or "cache" and well uninstall programs u do not use plus files u dont use. If u want, buy a enclosure and install a hard drive in it or buy a external hard drive which uses the USB or buy another hard drive and put in on the computer. If u have any music, important documents etc u can store it on the 2nd hard drive and free up yur 1st Hard drive that runs 2000 or installed on the computer. I suggest external so if virus happens on yur comp, all u have to do is unplug the USB or jus switch it off so u kno yur data is safe. Laterz.

Open Control Panel and click Add/Remove Programs. Click Add/Remove Windows Componants. Go through the list and deselect all the things you know you dont need. You could also try perfoming a defrag of your HD. Also run Disk Cleanup to remove various temp/internet files that build up over time.

Clean out your temp. internet files, go to add/remove programs and remove all of the bundled crap programs like AOL, etc. Also look for programs there that you know you'll never use and uninstall them. You can also get rid of any demo programs that expire (that came w/ the PC), unless you want to keep and upgrade them. I'm not sure if Win 2000 has the restore point program, but if it does you can set the program to create restore points less frequently...thereby saving harddrive space. (System Restore may only ship w/ XP however).
